Art Therapy uses the creative process as a tool for exploration. It can lower barriers in expressing oneself, often leading to some insightful conclusions. It is particularly beneficial when working with children, as younger people can be less comfortable or haven’t yet developed the capability of expressing themselves with words only. Creativity, imagination and play are naturally more familiar forms of expression and communication for children. Art Therapy accesses these modalities in its approach.
